Well, since you have a choice I would go with the solitaire. Personally, I think the 3 stone rings are waaay too common and they remind me of the cheap, cheesy jewelry on the commercials. what do you hate about it? Jewelers will charge you per stone they have to set, so lots of small stones will be very expensive. You are probably better off, trying to sell the ring and get a new one. Did you try to get the store to maybe swap it with something else they have in store? They want happy customers, so I would always try them first.
