How long ago did you stop wearing open toe sandals?

To think that was my passion, nice pedicure and sexy high heels until about 10 yrs ago when my toes decided to go every which way but straight, I mean, they never had a meeting about their destination, some went south, others east and west…..now I only wear pumps.

I still wear them and I could care less what people think about my barney toes. My feet are a mess and my toes cannot be described. I have never painted them and never had a professional pedicure. I also have never worn high heels with open toes. I stopped wearing heels in my late 30′s…about 3 years after I started wearing them due to foot and back pain. Once I tried Birkenstocks I was hooked. Now I wear other brands with a great footbed and open toes with a back strap. I get a size up for winter because I wear socks with them. No one sees my fugly toes with socks over them. I hope you can get over your fear of letting your toes into the open air again. Not many people care about such things in this day and age.

should a person with pale skin walk around in sandals or shorts?

I have a mixture of blond with red tinges in my hair with fair skin with freckles….people when I wear shorts and sandals (not everyone) but some really do stare at my paleness and comment. It makes me feel alienated. I just have not given in to the norm of having to have a tan. What do you all think?

I’m pretty pale as well and hate tanning. However, my legs look like paper after the harsh winter months, so I do use a bit of gradual self-tanner from Nivea – it makes you look healthier after just one use. If you’re not into that, just shave and moisturize really well, to make your gams look smooth and pretty and even defined and contoured. Good luck!

Do you refuse to listen when they say you can’t wear high heels or sandals when touring on vacation?

I hate when they say you have to wear tennis shoes because you are going to be walking a lot.
I don’t care how much my feet will hurt I hate tennis shoes so much.

I didn’t listen and I wore pretty sandals while walking around NYC all day. I can’t even tell you how much it phuckin hurt! I was expecting pain but I felt like my feet were going to fall off.
but I continued wearing high heels the whole trip lol.
