What is the ideal digital camera for me?
I need a digital camera but I don’t know exactly what to look for. I guess the camera is mainly going to be used for outside use to take pictures of friends and family and other such events. I’m not going to be photographing action shots on an NFL sideline. Also, if I can be advised on what to look for, that would be very helpful. Thanks to everybody that helps me out with this.

What would cause my digital camera to suddenly not work?
I have a kodak easyshare 10 mp V1003 digital camera and recently it just stopped working. I turn the camera on and the splash screen pops up in the lcd but it immediately goes to black and will not do anything else. I have tried removing the battery in case the battery had a dead cell in it and I tried removing the memory card in case it was corrupted but neither has helped. I can still transfer pics from the camera to the computer but can’t take pics. Please help.

The problem might be that it is a Kodak.
Seriously, I know that other brands have duds, too, but the VAST majority of problems reported here are about Kodaks (then Vivitar, but thankfully not too many people seem to buy those ones).
Have you tried brand new batteries? Rechargeable batteries have a life span.
There comes a time where they simply don’t recharge anymore.
I’ll cross fingers for you that all your camera needs is some brand new batteries.
