What’s the best digital camera under 0 for a beginner?
Hi!
I love taking pictures and sometimes I get lucky and I get a really great one, but the picture quality always sucks cause I’m using a horrible 3.1 mega pixel camera. What’s the best camera (not too complicated) out there for a beginner like me, under $ 200? I like to take nature and landscape photos so I want one that’s going to take nice, sharp pictures. Thanks!

My Akai digital camera sucks the life out of batteries. Should I get lithium or rechargeable batteries?
I put in 2 regular AA batteries in my camera and after taking 3 shots, the battery meter is halfway drained! Which is better for my 6.0 mega pixel camera. Lithium or Rechargeable batteries?

Hey cocastar26,
Alkaline batteries just don’t have the power for more than a few pics in a digital camera. Some may even have problems just powering startup of the camera. Digital cameras for the most part are best and most economically used with rechargeable NiMH batteries (At this time Lithiums are just not economical. Not too sure about their safety either). Walmart sells NiMH AA’s for around $ 7 for a package of four (about $ 15-19 for the batteries with charger). Keep in mind they’ll save you big bucks in the long run over alkalines, AND they’ll last for at least 100 pictures per charge (and probably many many more). You’ll be very pleased with their performance, and may slap yourself for not buying them sooner. When at the store, look on the package for a power rating of at least 2500 mah.

Where can I buy a digital camera with 1 or 2 cm minimum macro distance?
I want a point and shoot digital camera with 4x or 5x zoom and 10 or more mega-pixels. I prefer to not have a touch screen and would like to keep the price $ 300 or under. It must have 1 or 2 cm minimum macro distance, but this information is not usually listed on store’s websites. Help?

What would be the best digital camera (with flash) for snorkelling?
I am going on vacation where I will be doing quite a bit of snorkelling and want to know what is the best of the latest models that are waterproof to say 20 feet. It must also have a flash facility.

Hey Gogsyboy,
I might have an answer for you. But how much are you thinking about spending?
(My quick answer is tha Canon D10, for about $ 330, but it’s not been released yet. My more expensive answer is a Canon G10 ($ 500) and a Waterproof Case WP-DC28 ($ 240), that is avalible, now. My really expensive answer, depends on what you want to spend!)

What is a good professional digital camera for beginners?
I have three 6.0 megapixel cameras. I kept trying to get one that would work well, but they really aren’t doing the job for me. I like to take pictures at concerts and they often come out too dark (the flash won’t reach the stage), blurry, or don’t zoom in well enough. I think it’s time to splurge on a nice camera that will meet my needs, but I have no idea what to get. I need something that’s good for beginners, but will also be good as I get more advanced. Needs to be under $ 500, preferrably under $ 400.
Any suggestions from experienced photographers?
Thanks!!
