Help buying Diamond stud earrings?
I a male in my early 20′s and I don’t really wear jewelry (not even a watch). I’ve always liked how earring looked so I had both ears pierced when I was 18 (I went through phases sometimes wearing one little stud in my left ear and sometimes small hoops or studs in both ears). I haven’t worn earring(s) in a year or two and I kind of miss it.
I have an office type job where it wouldn’t be against dress code. I’m thinking of treating myself to a nice pair of diamond earrings and either wearing one or the pair. I have shaggy brown hair, green eyes, wear small oval framed silver glasses. I don’t really know too much about shopping for “real” jewelry. What should I look for? I’m thinking fairly small and in white gold, Any suggestions or advice? I’m not sure I trust the opinions of the commissioned salespeople at the jewelry stores I’ve been to.

Is spending 0 on diamond stud earrings for a one year anniversary to much?
Is spending 500 dollars on diamond earrings for a one year anniversary pushing it for a girlfriend of 1 year? I mean, I love her alot, but I dont want to make it like I’m spoiling her.

Advice on shopping for diamond stud earrings for a male?
I have both my ears pierced but very rarely wear earrings. I’d like to treat myself to a nice classic pair of diamond studs to wear on the occasions I dress up (I have a black button down shirt with pinstripes that I think would look awesome with diamond studs).
I’m open to any size from as small as 1/10 carat total weight for the pair (very tiny) to 1/2 carat total weight for the pair. But I think 1/5 or 1/4 is just the right size (but am not sure). I’m thinking of white gold and the newer 3-prong martini style settings and want to get the best cut I can afford (followed by clarity). What do you suggest?
What chain jewelry stores do you think would in general be most helpful to a man buying diamond studs for himself? Is it best to let them know that they are for me so they can help me find just the right pair?
