Have you gotten rid of your old DVD player to have space for your new Blu-Ray player or did you keep both?
I have a very good sony blu ray player (that I hardly ever use). I have a pioneer dvd player and i have some videos on my usb that i wanted to play on the tv. my dvd player has a usb port but i dont know how to access all my data on the usb . im not sure what model it is but it looks very similar to the pioneer DVR-545HX-S .

If your videos are on a USB flash memory then take out the disk from the DVD player put the flash memory in the USB slot and then close the tray.The player will detect no disk in and scan for other media supports and it will read your flash memory and display the content that it can read then all you have to do is to select what you want to see!

If your LCD is HD, then it should have a HDMI connector on it.
That’s your BEST choice. You can get a HDMI DVD player now a days for under $ 100.
You will be thankful for it.
If your only choice is S-Video or Composite (yellow connector), go with S-video.
What it does is separates the signals to give you a cleaner picture than composite.
