How to play a video i recorded using my dvd player recorder?

I recorded me playing my video game on Youtube for a Lets Play and i can view the video/audio on my dvd player but when i put it on my computer it says the CD is blank but it isn’t. It is viewable on my dvd but not my computer.( 10 points to best answer)

Hey Answer Giver,
Your recorder used a format the computer doesn’t recognize. You need to check the manufacturer’s site to find out what format was used and then find a matching plug in for your computer.

Another option: If you have video/audio out (for connecting the recorder to a TV) and video/audio in on your computer, you may be able to play it from the recorder into your computer just like using an external CD/DVD drive.

I know this can be done on Macs, (I’ve done it many times with DVDs and VCR tapes) but you’ll need a PC person to talk you through the set up on a PC.

What are the advantages and disadvantages to having a DVD player in your car?

The CD player in my Mustang is no longer working, so I was thinking of getting it replaced. I am seriously considering getting a DVD player installed. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I have heard that you can’t play it while driving the car, only when you are parked. Is that true? Because I was thinking I could use the DVD player for like road trips or when I am sitting in the car. If anybody has any advice, I would appreciate it. Thank You.

Hey Ben K,
A DVD player that is in sight of the driver is illegal in most states.

If you think talking on the phone is distracting try watching TV. It is extremely dangerous. How often do you actually just sit in your car going nowhere? How impractical would it be to buy a DVD player for the few times you might get to use it legally.

They are also targets for thieves.

There isn’t a single advantage to buying one unless you think impressing your stupid buddies is a positive thing.

How to I get sound to play from my DVD player through tv?

I recently moved and decided to hook my DVD player up directly to the tv as opposed to through the cable box. There are 3 different ways to hook input into tv, but either way I go, sound will not play. Any hints on what I need to do to correct this? TY
I have connected the video cable as well as the red and white audio cables. Thus the puzzling situation as to why I have no sound.

Based on emails, here’s our Top Ten Answers for you:

Hey radcat2860,
When you use the yellow video connector you also need to use the red and white audio connectors for stereo sound at the same time. Run cables for all three to the same input group on the TV and match the colors.
