Why is it fashionable for guys to wear flip flops or sandals with shorts, but not with jeans or cargo pants?

It seems girls always thinks guys should not wear flip flops or sandals with jeans, but they are acceptable with shorts. I don’t see what the big faux pas is. Can someone tell me why it looks so bad? I always thought wearing jeans and cargo pants with my flip flops looked relaxed and stylish, but I seem to be in the minority.

Well, it depends what kind of flip flops. But I don’t think cargo shorts and brown flip flops and a t-shirt look bad. It’s really your opinion… And I really don’t like jeans on guys… Just cargo. And you could also just wear the shorts that guys wear as a bathing suit and just some brown flip flops and a top… Haha hope I helped

How to be comfortable wearing sandals?

I never wear sandals…I don’t really know why. I’ve always just been more of a sneakers or boots kinda girl. So it’s weird to me now to try and wear sandals. Again, I don’t know why. I guess just because I never wear them. How can I feel more comfortable wearing sandals?
