What are the best settings for mixing sound files for ring tone use?
I know how to rip the parts I want and reformat them. What are some good effects/filters/EQ levels for mixing my files, specifically for cell phone playback? I’m using an ENV2, but general tips would be good.

Why not try and keep the original sound? Use a higher bitrate for better quality? I like 320kbps but the higher the bitrate the larger the file. Usually in increase in bass from the equaliser helps since phones can sound pretty empty in that area too.

How can I remove the matte finish from my gold ring and will it hurt the jewelry?
I have an 18k gold ring which has a matte “frost” finish. I would like to remove the finish. Is this possible? I am worried I might hurt the gold underneath.

I would take it to a jeweler, they should be able to buff it off. It’s a special type of “coating” that give it the matte finish. I wouldn’t recommend doing it yourself. 18K gold is a soft metal (if memory serves me right) leave it to the professionals, they can do it the right way and it won’t harm the jewelry. I might even take it to a couple of places get some different opinions.

Where is the best place to sell a diamond engagement ring?
I have a nice diamond engagement, and appraisal showing that is worth $ 4400. I would be more than happy to get even half of that, I was just wondering where would the best place to sell this ring safely (and hopefully quickly). I checked ebay, but it didnt seem like many rings were selling on there.

Hi, your best bet is to take it to some local jewellers in your area. Take it to two or three and see what price they offer you for it. Take along any documentation you have for the ring (original receipt, diamond report, appraisal document etc etc) which will help you negotiate on the price. I’d suggest doing this rather than trying to sell on eBay.

If my fiance has a gemstone engagement ring, where does she wear the wedding ring?
Engagement ring has a ruby in it and has been passed down through generations. We are wondering what type of wedding band/ring you get to accompany the gemstone ring and on which finger do you wear it? Same finger as the Eng. Ring or on the other hand?
