The password is a 4 digit code. No one in my family has set a code for it, ever… are there basic passwords that anyone knows of?

If you have your manual, it should be in the manual, or you can, if Bose does it, access the default code online through an online PDF version of the models manual.

Can you hook a pc monitor up to a dvd player ?

I have a monitor that has a DVI connection. Is there a way I can get an adapter to convert DVI to RCA (red white yellow cables) and then hook it up to a dvd player and use the monitor as a tv screen?

Based on emails, here’s our Top Ten Answers for you:

Hey Virgo1978,
No. You cannot use a simple cable adapter.

The DVI port on your monitor can only receive a digital TMDS video signal. It will NOT accept an analog composite TV signal from your DVD player.

Why not just play back DVDs on your computer?

Hey bball4life,
You need special software that will convert it to proper DVD format. Usually, it works depending where you are. If you are in the U.S make sure to convert it to the NTSC format. If you are in Europe to convert it in PAL format.

I used to use program called DVDSanta. It’s good program. You can convert anything into a DVD format and it burns it for you. There is also DivxtoDVD, this is the one I’m currently using and it is great. You may want to try that.
