How do I connect a satellite dish receiver to a portable dvd player?

I would try a universal remote that is programmable. Every manufacturer uses a different code (4 digits) for their IR system. If you are able to get a programmable remote, and maybe get the dealership to let you use a remote they have, you can point the IR from the original to the programmable and have it “copy” the signal.
