I have a v300 tablet, when I try to connect to my wireless network and I put in the wireless password I get an error that reads: “the network passwords needs to be 40 bits or 104bits depending on your network congifuration this can be entered as 5 or 13 ascii characters or 10 or 26 hexadecimal characters”

here you have not given the error description but by the way windows 7 can install any software for any version of microsoft windows
I hope following things can help you:
1.Right click on set-up
2.Select “Capability”
3.Run the programm in capability mode for “required window version”(see which SP it requires)
4.Previlage level to Run this as an Administrator
5.OK and start it again
if it not worlks
1.Go to Control Pannel
2.Program and Features
3.Run the programm….prev ver of windows
4.you should see troublshooter
5.then go advance – run as administer
6.select apply repairs
7.Next
8.it will detect programms installed (since u have not installed it then)
9.select Not listed- then next
10.browse file & troubleshoot it
11.try recommonded setting first if it fails try troubleshoot programms
12.you must solve problem
if all fails then the fault is in your windows(setup not done correctly) try windows7ultimate (RTM), “Professional” or “Enterprise” its all best versions ever and if your windows is home basic and home premium then it will not able to run programms of previouse version
well windows 7 is best in all angles and much better & faster than Vista so I recommend you to use it
