DVD Player User Questions
What would happen if you used the wrong adapter cord for a portable dvd player?
One with a higher voltage.
I mean, I’m sure it would break it, but could you describe exactly how?
Would it just stop working, or would it affect the screen.
I think I may have broken mine, and needed information.
Based on emails, here’s our Top Ten Answers for you:
Hey Katarzyna ‡ Starbreeze,
If you put to much voltage into it, you could fry a component inside and you will not get anything on the screen

How do you connect a portable DVD player to a Playstation 1?
How do you connect a portable DVD player that says “AV In/Out” in a single hole and it comes with a cable that has on one end one cable and on the other 3 cables: a yellow, a red, and a white to a Playstation 1 system?
The DVD player does NOT have the colored holes. It has only one hole, and in that you plug in a cable that has one end on one side, and 3 ends on the other side of the cable.
Based on emails, here’s our Top Ten Answers for you:
Hey Ale,
Are these plugs or sockets? If they are sockets, plug the Playstations AV cable into the respectively colored sockets.
Then set the PLayer to display the external video source.
Check the DVD players manual on how to do that.

How do I make my vcr work with a cable box,and my dvd player ?
Thanks Mike: Still havent gotten it to work. My vcr does have additional plug in’s on the back . Its has 2 coaxel plug ins and 6 addition push in plub in’s color coded. My tv also has additional plush in type plug ins again color coded.
Based on emails, here’s our Top Ten Answers for you:
Hey Steve S,
If the vcr has additional inputs, you use the vcr as the main center, you do this by having the cable box connected into either the 75 ohm cable input(single cable the screws onto the terminal) and then you connect the dvd player to the other input that uses 3 plug rca cable, one is red,one is white and one is yellow, you connet the red and white one to audio in left and right then plug the yellow cable to video in right next to the red and white cables(some vcrs will have more then two sets of inputs on the back and some have them in the front on the face panel and you could also use these(face panel inputs) to connect the dvd player) Now when you want to watch a dvd you simply turn on the vcr and using the channel select you select one of the aux channels(on the vcr) that you’ve connected the dvd to and you now can watch dvd’s. It is also possible that you have additional inputs on your TV too. check the back and see if you have any rca plugs,if you do then you can plug the dvd into one of the additional inputs the same way you would connect to the vcr rca inputs and then use the aux setting on the TV to watch dvd’s, if all this is confusing, then re-ask question and state all the connecttions that are on all the units and I’ll re-explain
