Well, i have a CD-R disk and files that ive downloaded off the internet of TV shows, and i want to put them on my CD so i can watch them in my DVD player, how can i do this?

You can’t put video files on a cd-r and play them on a dvd player. You need to record them on a dvd-r, and have a dvd burner on your computer. It cannot be done with a cd-r.

First do you have a DVD burner on the computer, if so then the video would have to be downloaded to the computer from there it should be no problem to burn it onto the the dvd and it would play on the dvd player so you could watch you on the TV.

You don’t usually connect a DVD player to a cable box. Both the DVD player and the cable box have outputs, not inputs. You connect both to different sets of inputs on the TV.
Now some cable boxes do have a “passthru” connection. To use this you have to use a corresponding button on your cable box’s remote.
