My wife has been experiencing an irritation on her ring finger under her wedding ring and band. A particular ointment has helped it lately but then it comes back.

Does an adjustable ring blank need to be the same size as the button?
I am wanting to make some rings. I have two different sized buttons. One is 15.8mm 9.8mm thick, the other button is 30.5mm and 12.5 thick. I found some adjustable ring blanks and am wondering if they need to be the same size as the button or does it matter?
