The Top Ten Tips for Holiday Travel
10. Buy your tickets early! (we like Expedia.com.) If you know in September that you will be traveling in the holidays, buy your tickets then! The prices only get higher the closer you get to November or December.
9. Bring your favorite food on your flight or drive. You’ll be happy and satisfied by it, and it will save you significant money at the airport or gas station.
8. If possible, don’t check any bags for a flight. Small presents can fit into your carry-on and buy the big items when you’ve arrived at your holiday destination. That’s an easy way to save $50!
7. Find the cheapest gas! AAA has your back when driving for the holidays, whether it be Christmas or Independence Day. Their website lists the cheapest (and closest) gas near you just from entering in your zip code!

6. Wrap gifts at your destination. TSA may ruin your wrapped presents by a inspection, and the movement of packed bags may also tear up your wrapping paper. Wrap them later to prevent re-wrap irritation!
5. Stock up your Ipod and Kindle. Create a playlist of soothing holiday favorite songs and listen to them en route. Or feel nostalgic by purchasing a few holiday children’s books and read them on the way (or share them with children.)
4. Write a holiday travel checklist the week beforehand. Think: Presents? Printed Confirmations? Medications? Special items? Keep it around so that when you remember you’ll want the camera battery on the trip, you can add it to your list.
You’ll never forget the gift you stashed away in your closet or your classic holiday socks again!
3. Pack earplugs. Ultra-handy earplugs can help you tune out crying babes on flights and assist your relaxation techniques by decreasing input. And being so small, there is no downside to having a pair.
2. Remember your favorite flask. One may never know when it be useful, but a few days into family-time, you’ll be glad you brought it.
1. Holiday travel is stressful so reward yourself when it’s done. Give extra big hugs to your friends and family. Take a hot shower or a nap. Drink a large cup of tea. Whatever your release, give yourself time to unwind after all the work you’ve just put in!
Looking forward to your holiday travel yet? =)
